scary santa...

I thought this one looks kinda like what Piper might do if she freaks with the big man....

With getting in the mood for the holidays, I thought I would post a couple pictures of kids scared of santa. We havn't gone to visit santa, hopefully Piper isn't this freaked. Gotta admit though, the pics are pretty funny. I have a few more I might post in a few weeks....

Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was great. We stayed with Michaels Mom and Dad, but still saw my family plenty. Thursday night, for desert, Piper got to celebrate her birthday once again. Just how many times can one little girl turn 2? Anyway, Piper thinks it's a pretty good gig and loves the cake just as much every time. Also, she insisted she wear her tu-tu through the whole evening, because it was her party and she was princess.

First Haircut

She got bangs!!! And a little off the back. Not too different, just cleaned up a bit...

Such a good sitter....she let the lady do whatever she wanted.

What a setup! I think I'm going to the wrong salon.

So I got sick of seeing Pipers hair always in her face, and her hairdo was getting a little on the mullet side (which is cool, if that's your intended style). We went to "Cookie Cutters" which was great because she sat in a red truck, got to watch a dora video, and got a balloon & sucker at the end. Actually, I couldn't get her to leave because she wanted to play on the waiting room toys... I really recommend it.

Naughty Dora...

So here's the story....Piper and I went to Trader Joe's on Friday afternoon and she got a balloon at check-out for being a good girl. Saturday morning the balloon had lost it's float and within Miles wild grasp. Miles pops the balloon. Michael blames it on Heavy Dora. Heavy Dora gets stepped on and sent to the naughty corner. Where does she get the violence? I've never stepped on her!

Play Doh.....oh no

So Piper discovered the world of play-doh this week and now that's all she wants to do. I'm proud of her because she dosn't seem interested on eating it, or throwing it on the floor....just mashing all the colors together.

Opening gifts....

Miles, those dress up cloths are for Piper...you silly cross-dressing Boston.

A broom of her own. Sweeping is a favorite pastime here.

This is one of her most prized new toys. Please meet "Heavy Dora". I think she calls here Heavy Dora because it's pretty much the same size and weight as she is. So fun...

So Mom got a headache and we havn't made it to Chuck E yet....it's on our to-do list. Piper opened a few presents and we to bed early. She thought it was great.

Piper's 4...I mean 2!!!

Piper and my dad, He is now "Grandpa De Jonge" to piper.

The proud Daddy...Piper's all dressed up, waiting to go home.

Fresh out of the oven....and at 3 days overdue, very happy to be in the world.

This morning when I got Piper up, I wished her a Happy Birthday and asked her how old she was and she told me she was 4. Why do young girls always want to be older than they really are? At least she didn't tell me 16, then I would have had a real problem on my hands. Here are a few pictures of when she was born, wow, she has really grown up. Tonight we are going to open some presents and go to Chuckie Cheese, hopefully she's not scared of Chuckie like last time. I'll post some pictures of that later....

Early Birthday party...

Nana and Papa...with all the Elling cousins. We have 9 on that side, with one on the way! It was an effort to just get all the kids on the couch, let alone looking at the camera all at the same time. This pic is about as good as it gets.

Piper requested a girly cake with doggies on it. She had the best time eating her strawberry cake!

This past weekend we traveled back to Michigan to visit family and relax. Piper had an early birthday party on the Elling side....what fun!
