Feeders, Readers and Blogs...oh my!

So I don't typically post on bloggy tips and know how's, because I usually got nothing. Admittedly, I do blog, I should know more than I do, but unfortunately I don't. Dumb blogger I guess.

But, I do want to try and teach a few of you a little time saver of a trick called SUBSCRIBING TO YOUR BLOGS IN A READER. Ok, didn't mean to yell at you or anything, just wanted to make sure you were listening.

Through tracking my stats and hits, it has become apparent to me that less than 10% of my hits are coming through RSS Subscriptions, and I think that's crazy because RSS Readers are the best thing to happen to blog readers since sliced bread. Although, many of my daily hits do come from plain ole' google searches too. Did you know that if you Google search "how to hook up with a carnie" I'm the #7 popular result page? nice.

I am left to believe that you all are doing it caveman style, waisting precious mousy clicks painstakingly cycling through your list of favorite blogs (your blogroll). (I'm talking to you, ms. Denver, Colorado).

What is a reader you ask and why do I need it?
Simple answer: It's a place you can go to see all your favorite blogs in one spot. Who has updated, who has not.

Why do I need to use a reader?
Easy answer, you can approach it two ways...
1. you can quickly check all your favorite blogs (may it be 10 or 100) in one click, opposed to painstakingly going down your blogroll, clicking on every single blog in your list, only to get annoyed that your one long lost high school friend that you have been blog stalking still has not updated her blog in 2 weeks. grrr.....

2. you can read more blogs, because you have more time to waste, you have become efficient, because your not clicking on sites that haven't updated.

Ok, now that you know you now need a reader....how do you get an account you ask?

Well, I don't want to try and reinvent the wheel here, and I probably would get the details wrong, so I want you to go over to Simple Mom and check out her little "how-to" tutorial on RSS Subscriptions (readers, duh).

You know, click on my little orange button at the right hand top of my blog that says "subscribe in a reader" (or I've put one below in this post for the directionally challenged).
