2008 book list

It's that time of year, to post the "what I've been reading when I'm not reading blogs" list. I read less books than I have in the past (probably because I read more blogs than I should). I also think I've gotten busier this past year with having 2 active kids that want to drain my energy all day. I only read at night; so when they girls poop me out, I hit the pillow hard and forget to read.

So here it is, the list. I've linked up to my favorites.....

  • Remember me? by Sophie Kinsella
  • Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner
  • The Curious Incident of the dog in the nighttime by Mark Haddon
  • Healthy Child, Healthy World by Christopher Gavigan
  • Blogging with Moxie by Joelle Reeder and Katherine Scoleri
  • The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
  • Pretty is what changes by Jessica Queller
  • Watermelon by Marian Keys
  • A Wolf at the Table by Augusten Burroughs
  • A Wild Ride up the Cupboards by Ann Bauer
  • love the one your with by Emily Giffin
  • Wicked by Gregory Maguire
  • The Post Birthday World by Lionel Shriver
  • Naked by David Sedaris
  • Waiting for Birdie by Cathrine Newman
  • The Road Cormac McCarthy
  • Animal Farm by George Orwell
  • Dress your family in Denim and Corduroy by David Sedaris
  • The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs
  • The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls
  • Twilight Susan Myers
  • Are you there Vodka? It’s me Chelsea by Chelsea Handler
  • A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
So, leave me a comment. Let me know what you suggest for my reading list of 2009. What did you read that I just have to have? Here is my 2007 list for reference. And yes, I'll be reading the rest of the Twilight series, because I'm so high school like that...

Here's my list!
I think you would like Amy Bloom's AWAY.
Also, if you need any of the Twilight series, let me know and we can arrange a drop-off! I keep trying to lend them out but everyone's already got them!

Thanks for the comment. Oh, I love good book lists - you've got a couple of my favs (Glass Castle, Wicked, Augusten Burroughs). I love David Sedaris - I would suggest everything him (loved his newest this year, "When You Are Engulfed in Flames"). I just started "Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History" and I'm really liking it.

I love the Twilight series because I'm so high school like that, too. Stephenie Meyer definitely wrote four amazing books and I'm still hoping and praying that she'll finish Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's point of view). I really liked The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime too.

My one resolution is to read and finish one book this year, at least one! I am so bad at starting a book...I'm in the middle of "What is the What" by Dave Eggers and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Happy oh 9!! Oh and can I borrow your David Sedaris books?? I've heard some of his stuff and it had me in stitches!

I will definitely be reading the Glass Castle, thanks for the rec!
Have fun with the rest of the Twilight series... the second book gets a little tough to get through, but it's worth it to read the last one.
