Today marks a milestone. I'm officially "full term" when it comes to this pregnancy. Yesterday the doctor confirmed that the little munchkin was head down and ready to go. I guess we're as ready as we're going to be - so let's get this party started! One of my preparations for this little one has been washing the babywearing stash. I didn't ever wear PK, and I wore Birdie every chance I got (picture to the left is one of my very 1st pics I have of the Bird being carried. I think it's from around 3 weeks old, at the Indiana State Fair 2007).
I fell in love with babywearing because I read some great blogs, particularly Steph's and Drea's that convinced me that babywearing was not only stylish but an awesome bonding experience between mom and baby.
Since I can only use one carrier at a time, I've decided that I need to trim the stash down and share the love. And maybe, just maybe, I might be making room for a new carrier (or three) that I've had my eye on. Don't tell my husband...
I could try to sell them, but frankly I'm too lazy and that's just requires too much work for me. Since I love passing things on and sharing the love with you all; I've decided to give one away - every week - until this baby makes his or her appearance. Pretty much, I'll be giving away somewhere between 1-4 carriers!
This week - up for grabs is a Baby K'tan Carrier (retail $58) in size small, color camouflage. It's not new, it's very gently used (by me, like twice).
To enter, tell me something that's on your mind (like what your favorite boy name is, for example). Anyone who leaves me a comment that says "I wanna win this" will be deleted. Because I'm guessing if you're entering - you want it.
Winner will be announced and contacted when week 38 starts, November 6th.
37 weeks and giving it away... (no really, a GIVEAWAY)

I love wearing my babies. It is so much easier to take care of my other kiddos if I am wearing baby.
I LOVE the name Samuel but never got to use it because the hubby isn't a big fan. LOVE that name. :)

I have found wearing my babies to be a huge lifesaver! I mostly use my pouch sling b/c it fits in my diaper bag and I can't remember to bring anything else. :) plus, i hate having to push around a stroller.
as for boy names... I'm partial to Nathan (my firstborn!) and if #2 had been a boy, I would have campaigned hard for Evan or Grant. I have always like the name Jacob, but it was a no go for us b/c my boyfriend in HS was named Jake.

Ok, you know my fav boy names (my boys)but here are a couple I like that we cant use for various reasons...Calvin, Roman,Lucas. Cant wait to meet that little one!

Oh, man!...it's almost go time. So exciting. I hope the name game is coming along and Michael is getting plenty of attention prior to his post-birth hiatus from...well...you know. -Mr. Blonde

I'm kind of partial to James. ;) Other boy names? Hmmm... Anything but Max and Jack, way overdone. Love them both but they're just a little too common nowadays. How about Jonas or Andrew or Thomas or Aaron?

Today I had a blast using Picasa (a free download from google to edit pics). I made some fun collages of family pictures eating up hard drive space on my lap top. If you are bored and need something fun to play with, check it out! Oh and boys names.. my friend just had a Carson..cute, but pretty popular. How about Zander? You could always name him what are are served for lunch...like yellagelo (yellow jello!) Happy full term day to you!

I'm so excited and blessed to finally have the chance to "wear" a baby:) The boy name of my liking is "Grayson". It's unique and adorable:) I'm praying for you and a quick and healthy delivery!
All our best,
Jami

i'm not sure this will fit my tall ass, but i'd love to share it with my teeny mom in law!
we just had our baby boy- cassius- and i'm rather fond of the name!

I like the name Abraham, for some reason. Has lots of potential for short names, and can be changed to "Abby" should the boy prefer being a woman.
On my mind: dreading updating the old resume after a surprise company-wide layoff today. Bleh.

Here's what's on my mind: today is one of those days where I think to myself I will never have more kids.
Favorite boy names? Besides my own boys' names? I really like Ari and Jett.
I'm not babywearing anymore since my baby is ginormous now and I have back problems but let's just face it, I'm sure I'll have more kids to wear so I should win this. I'm probably pregnant as I type this with my luck because my mouth seriously watered when I read the description of that burger in the post below. Yum.

I loved wearing both my kiddos....I love the name Owen of course and also love Emerson...I wanted Chloe although she was a girl to be that name but the hubby nixed it! BEST OF LUCK!

I'm a first time mom. I am 24 and am loving holding my baby close and keeping him near me. He was born on Sept. 8.
His name is Nathaniel Ryan, which I love. Nathaniel means gift from God. Our next son will have the middle name Uriah, which means God is my light.
:)

I'm a first time mom. My baby was born on Sept. 8 and I love being close to him and cuddling.
His name is Nathaniel Ryan. We like to call him Nate. For our next child, we want to name him (assuming it's a him) Lance Uriah. Since Nathan means gift from God, I'd like my next baby to have a biblical name. Lance isn't biblical but my husband loves it. Uriah means God is my light.
:)

I lurve the name Cooper, but I can't use it for two reasons: 1, my friend totally stole the name (srsly, what a ho), and 2, It rhymes with pooper. I couldn't do that.
I love Irish names...and I love the name that I am still keeping under my hat in case we ever have a boy. Can you blame me, I already had a name stolen!
You have to tell me all about your baby wearing, it's something I really want to do with Binky.
Sat Oct 31, 01:15:00 PM
I tried three different types of carriers with my first son (Peanut sling, Ergo, Bjorn) and he just didn't want anything to do with babywearing AT ALL. It broke my heart, actually. So I'm hoping the next little guy will like it--or at least tolerate it, because he'll have to! I'm due in 5 days so we'll see...
Sat Oct 31, 02:16:00 PM
I think the name Nathaniel is pretty cool:)
I love baby wearing but never had many carriers!
Very excited for you and your family!
Sat Oct 31, 02:17:00 PM
I'm currently loving the name Atticus so much that I'm lobbying for this name if we have a third boy some day, but I'm probably just a freak like that. I also love the name Oliver.
YAY for full term!
Sat Oct 31, 03:44:00 PM
We have a short last name or I would have totally used the name Hugh. I love it.
Sun Nov 01, 10:55:00 PM
My BiL has 6 boys and has stolen some of my favorite names already! My BiL's name is Kevin (love the name) and his 6 sons are Joshua, David, Timothy, Elijah, Caleb and Malachi.
Mon Nov 02, 10:52:00 AM
My favorite boy name at the moment is Cash...and maybe Cale (pronounced like Kale)...into C-names apparently! :)
Mon Nov 02, 05:14:00 PM
I do love to wear my baby. My favorite right now is my ERGO, I haven't had it long, but I love it.
Well, I have a few favorite boy names. Wyatt is my oldest and if I have another, it will be Cooper.
YEAH for full term!!
Mon Nov 02, 05:30:00 PM
Hmmm...what's on my mind- well we are potty training at my house right now, and I just got peed on, so that's at the front of what I'm thinking about lol! It is actually going well, if you take away the last oops! Anyways.... I'm pregnant with my second (6 1/2 months along) and I have only a couple of slings, and it's just not enough. Steph is a good friend of mine, and if I don't win some of these, I think I might break into her house and steal her stash- he he. Shhhh
Oh, and a boys name I like is my little brother's name- Harrison. I think it's fancy and gentleman sounding, and unique!
Mon Nov 02, 09:19:00 PM
My favorite boys name huh? Let's see - I really like Michael. Congrats on the new baby!!!
Tue Nov 03, 02:53:00 PM
LOVED wearing my firstborn. #2 is on the way, and I have a ring sling, a Moby-wrap, and a Babyhawk. The Babyhawk came later, but I think it will be great with #2. Husband wouldn't wear any of them, so we have a Baby Bjorn, too, but I think it's way uncomfy comparably.
My fave boy name the 1st time around was Asher. Since we now have an Audrey, I don't think we'll use it.
Wed Nov 04, 04:14:00 PM
I just had my son in September. I REALLY loved the name River, but my husband wasn't feeling it. Three days before I had him I came across the name Zander and that is what we went with. It means "defender of the people". I really love that.
This is the first baby I am wearing on purpose. I tried a couple of carriers with my son and daughter (now 12 and 7) but things killed my back. I have the Moby now and I love it, but I'm looking for a bit of a variety.
Anyways, good luck on your labor!!! :)

I LOVE wearing my babe...I just got into with my second child, Grant, and it is absolutely a great bonding experience. I only have a sleepy wrap but it seems to do the job. : )
Oh, and I also LOVE the name Hudson for a boy.
