Go figure, we've had a few sick days here at our home. Last week it was an allergic reaction to a Halloween oreo with orange stuffing (don't ask), this week it's fighting a cold due to the crazy lady at the pharmacy.
PK has missed a couple days of school; and while this bums here out, I've kept her busy doing "school stuff". Today the afternoon lesson was matching. (I hate with a burning passion sock sorting, can you tell? What gave it away?)
Yet another example of my laziness and why I should never home school. But really, who was I to stop her? Don't worry, I gave her a gold star when she was done.
"Well done! You made a match! Now go fish..."

If sock sorting isn't considered a great learning experience then I'm doing this whole homeschooling thing all wrong. :)
Seriously though, she's getting fine motor skill exercise, math skills from sorting and home life skills. I say make it a weekly thing and that way you get a break. Why not, right?

Vacuuming makes a great Phys Ed class. And I'm sure there is some science lesson to be learned in helping mommy clean out the fridge (at least if your fridge is like mine).

And how many didn't have a match? That's the part that drives me Batty!!
P.S. I think everyone I 'know' has that same laundry basket...

I stopped folding socks altogether, unless they're mine. I only wear socks in the winter so I just don't feel it's my job to do the sock thing in nice weather. Yeh, I've managed to take lazy to all new heights.
